Winter fire care call

ST JOHN of God’s Berwick Auxillary group will hold their next general meeting at Gibbs Street on Monday 15 June from noon.
A Berwick CFA member will appear as a special guest speaker on the day.
As winter has now begun, people are advised to take care with open fires and children wearing flammable clothing near heaters.
Nearly every day, a house or building is destroyed by fire. The popularity of burning candles is also a worry for firefighters, especially when they are located in bedrooms.
Smoke detectors should be in every home, with batteries charged yearly.
Ladies are asked to bring a plate and a friend for the worthwhile talk.
