Rental eviction leads to drugs discovery

POLICE tasked with assisting a rental eviction in Pakenham uncovered what they believe to be drugs during their search of the home.
About six officers were observed looking through and photographing the Racecourse Road, Pakenham home’s garage from midday on Monday 4 July.
A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed officers attended the property to issue the tenant/s with a warrant of possession, a VCAT ordered rental termination.
It is unclear why the tenant/s are being evicted.
Police executing the warrant found no one inside the property at the time.
However, they gained access to the home before conducting a search where they uncovered what they believe to be cannabis.
No arrests have been made, however police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the supposed drug discovery.
Two police officers were observed at the same address talking to a man days earlier.
