THE Yakkerboo Art Show returns this year with the opportunity for the artistically minded to test new water-based oil paints at the Come and Try Workshops.
Art Show president Jillian Ronald said all were welcome to come and try a variety of art products across a two-day workshop.
“As Cardinia’s community art show we want to encourage everyone to get involved with art. Come along and be inspired,” she said.
“I believe there is some creativity inside everyone. It is just a case of finding the right medium and direction for you or just come to see the amazing artistic talent that is in and around Cardinia.”
The first workshop would focus on water-based oils while the second installation would centre on pencil and watercolour mediums.
“I’ll be bringing my new water-based oil paint products for people to experiment with,” Melbourne Art Direct’s Shane Fewster said.
“People often want to have a go at painting, but don’t know where to begin. The Come and Try Workshops will give you a chance to test out the products and get started.
“There’s no turps, no odour, no toxins.
He said artists such as Leanne Hutchinson from Up Close and Personal Art Studio and Leanne from Leanne Moss Portraits and Paintings would do demonstrations and provide advice on how to use each of the mediums.
Products will be on special and giveaways will take place throughout the show.
Yakkerboo Art Show workshops run between 10am and 4pm on 28 and 29 May at Pakenham Hall, corner of Henry Street and John Street.
